About Us:

The Piramal Group acquired shareholding of F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Switzerland, in the Indian subsidiary, Roche Products Limited. Post acquisition, the company was renamed as Piramal Healthcare Ltd.

Piramal Healthcare Limited was later merged with the group’s flagship pharma company Nicholas Piramal India Ltd.

Nicholas Piramal India Limited's Vitamin and Fine Chemicals Division has been manufacturing and selling the most IMPORTANT MICRONUTRIENT - VITAMIN A, for the last 40 years. Since the takeover of the plant in 1993, our chairman is Mr. Ajay Piramal. President is Mr. Mick Fernandes. The plant is run professionally and is meeting with the country's requirements in total.

Total Quality Management
The cornerstone of our manufacturing is Quality. Quality pervades our state –of –art manufacturing plants at Thane and Pithampur (Indore). The recent commissioning of Phase II at Pithampur plant with Rs. 25 crores expansion, will lead to employee strength up to 400

Maintaining World class quality standards is an obsession with top management and percolates to every level, making the plants a land mark of quality. Designed for approval by Medicine control Agencies and the US –FDA, they are accredited with WHO – GMP. The plant at Thane have obtained the coveted ISO 9001 & ISO 14000 certificates and also the SQF 2000 & HACCP Certification and the Pithampur plant obtained ISO –14000 certificate from BVQI, making NPIL one of the first seven pharmaceutical companies in India to do so.

There is an ongoing effort to integrate Information Technology with Total Quality Management. Kaizen activities at all the plants have greatly blossomed. By implementing the principles of Gemba Kaizen, workers are encouraged to use their talent, initiative and ideas to improve their work and work place. Appreciation certificates are given for suggestions to improve productivity, safety and quality. Juran Quality improvement projects are also in use for continuous improvement in the group’s activities.
